Napoleon Pastry

Napoleon Pastry at Crema House in Ottawa is our single-serve mille-feuille, made in our pasticceria. Sheets of puff pastry are baked until flaky and lightly caramelised, then stacked with a filling of your choice: vanilla custard, the traditional French filling, or fresh whipped cream, which is lighter and cooler. The top is dusted with icing sugar and finished with chopped pistachio or dried rose petals, a Persian touch on a French pastry. It is cut for one person and is best eaten the day it is made, while the pastry is still crisp. It contains wheat, egg and dairy; the pistachio finish contains nuts. Order for pickup on Clyde Avenue, and take an Americano beside it to balance the sweetness.

This is the Whipped Cream Napoleon, lighter and cooler than the custard version.
