Who we are

Crema House is a café and pasticceria at 14-1400 Clyde Avenue, Ottawa, operated by PerPalate Inc. When these terms say “we” or “us”, they mean PerPalate Inc. When they say “you”, they mean the person using this site or placing an order.

Ordering for pickup

Orders placed on cremahouse.ca are for pickup at the café. We do not deliver from this site.

• Prices are in Canadian dollars. HST is added at checkout according to each item's tax status, and you see the total before you pay.
• Drinks and pastry are usually ready about 15 minutes after you order. Orders by weight and cookie boxes need about two hours. Whole cakes need a day's notice.
• Your order is accepted once payment goes through and you see the confirmation page with your order number.
• If something you ordered is unavailable, we contact you before making any change, and refund anything we cannot make.
• We hold orders until closing time on the pickup day. Orders not collected by then cannot be refunded, because most of what we make is fresh that day.

Payment and tips

Payments are processed by Square. Card details are entered into Square's secure fields and go directly to Square; they never pass through or stay on our systems. We receive only what we need to match a payment to your order, such as the card brand and last four digits.

Tips are optional and are added on top of your order total.

Allergens

Our kitchen handles tree nuts (including pistachio, almond and walnut), wheat, dairy, eggs and other common allergens. The ingredient, vegan and gluten-free marks on this site are a guide to what an item contains, not a guarantee that it is free of traces.

If you have a serious allergy, please call us or speak to us at the counter before ordering.

Gift cards

• Crema House gift cards are electronic (eGift) cards, sold and managed through Square.
• They do not expire and carry no fees.
• They can be used at the café and on cremahouse.ca, in full or in part.
• They cannot be exchanged for cash, except where the law requires it.
• Please treat a gift card like cash. If you lose the email, contact us with the purchase details and we will help.

CremaClub

CremaClub is our rewards program. Points are linked to your phone number and are earned on purchases at the café and, when you give your phone number at checkout, on this site. Points are added once an online order has been picked up.

Rewards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or transferred. Before points can be used online, we email a one-time code to the address on your CremaClub profile. We may change the program's rewards and rules; points you have already earned are not taken away when we do.

Table bookings

A table request is not a reservation until we confirm it by email. Tables are for 2 to 10 guests; for more than 10, we arrange the whole café as an event. On Fridays and Saturdays, tables can be booked for up to one hour.

If your plans change, please cancel from your booking page or call us, so the table can go to someone else.

CremAI, our assistant

CremAI is an automated assistant that answers questions about our menu, orders, bookings and gift cards. It can make mistakes. Please do not rely on it for allergy or health decisions, and confirm anything important with us.

Messages you send to CremAI are processed by our AI provider to write its replies. We do not keep your conversations. Please do not share payment details or other sensitive information in the chat.

This website

The photos, illustrations, marks and text on this site belong to Crema House and may not be reused without our permission. We work to keep menus, prices and availability accurate; when we find an error, we correct it, and if it affects an order you have placed, we contact you before going ahead.

Our responsibility

If something goes wrong with an order, our responsibility is limited to replacing the item or refunding what you paid for it, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ontario consumer protection law.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown here when you place an order is the one that applies to it. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
