Tiramisu Cake at Crema House is the classic Italian dessert made as a whole eight-inch cake, serving eight to ten. It is made in our Ottawa pasticceria. A vanilla sponge is soaked with our own Blasercafé espresso, then layered with a silky mascarpone whipped cream and dusted with cocoa. A ring of savoiardi, the Italian ladyfinger biscuits, stands around the side. Tiramisù means pick-me-up, and the espresso does that work: it contains caffeine. It is not vegan and has no nuts in the recipe, though it is made in a shared kitchen. It is a cold cake, cut straight from the fridge. Whole cakes need a day's notice, and pickup is at 14-1400 Clyde Avenue. It is the Italian pastry Ottawa dinner-party cake, and it pairs well with an Espresso or a Cannoli.
