Banana Walnut Cake at Crema House is a layered whole cake of banana sponge, cream and walnuts, baked in our Ottawa pasticceria. The sponge is made with fresh bananas, which keep the crumb moist and give it a natural sweetness. Walnuts are folded through and scattered on top, so every slice has crunch. It contains tree nuts and is not vegan. It is a six-inch round standing four inches tall, deeper than most of our rounds, so it cuts into tall slices for four to six. Whole cakes need a day's notice, with pickup at 14-1400 Clyde Avenue. It goes well with a Caffe Latte in the afternoon.
